How to Sell Paid Episodes to Your Instagram Audience

Turn interest in your Instagram drama into paid episode unlocks on GW. Learn the free-to-paid setup, viewer checkout and creator revenue share.

By The Generated Worlds editors · Published · Updated

You can sell access to later episodes of your drama by hosting the series on Generated Worlds, choosing its free and paid episodes, and linking Instagram viewers to the full story. Viewers can unlock episodes without taking a monthly membership. Discovery can happen on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and GW; your GW studio brings episode access and payments together.

How publishing on GW works

GW publishing facts reviewed 2026-10-10. Platform comparisons below keep their own source-check dates.

Free publishing on GW
The free Creator plan supports 1 new series a month, up to 100 episodes each. A paid studio site is optional.
Your independent studio site
Launch your own branded streaming site on Starter for $39 a month. Starter supports 3 new series a month. Publishing on GW and launching this site are separate steps.
Review
Episodes publish on GW as soon as they upload. GW reserves the right to take down any content, or suspend an account, that doesn't pass its review or the Community Guidelines. All published work remains subject to content and rights rules.
Paid episodes
Creators choose which episodes are free or paid. GW sets paid episodes at 10 tokens. The standard creator allocation is 80% of net episode revenue after processing; payouts start at $25. This is separate from brand-deal fees.
Discovery and returning viewers
Viewers can discover your work on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and GW. Send interested viewers to a recognizable series or studio destination where they can return for the story.

Sell the continuation of a specific story

A viewer commenting “part two?” has expressed interest in a story. Give that viewer a clear route to its continuation: the series title, where to watch, and where paid access begins. You do not have to turn every episode into a promise of monthly bonuses or behind-the-scenes content.

This approach is particularly relevant to serialized AI drama creators whose clips already attract returning viewers. It still requires a story people want to finish. A follower count alone cannot tell you how many viewers will pay.

Set up free and paid episodes on GW

Open Creator Studio and complete the onboarding or review shown for your account. Add your series and episodes, then use the series access controls to choose a free opening run or mark individual episodes free or paid. Publish the episodes you intend viewers to watch.

For example, you could make episodes one through three free and start paid access at episode four. This is a suggested test, not a required free-run length or a claim about the best conversion rate. Give viewers enough story to understand the characters and stakes.

GW currently sets the paid episode price at 10 tokens. Creators control which episodes are free; they do not set an arbitrary cash price for each episode. At the current list rate, those 10 tokens represent $0.10. The checkout amount can be higher because of minimum purchases, packages or bundles.

Give Instagram viewers one clear destination

Put the full-series link in a clickable Instagram destination, such as your profile link or a Story link sticker where available. Name the series in the clip and make the call to action specific: “Watch the full series through the link in my bio. Episodes 1–3 are free; later episodes unlock on GW.”

Only use that wording when those episodes are actually free. Check the destination on your phone while signed out. The title, free opening and next episode should match what the Reel promised.

Explain what the viewer buys

A per-episode unlock gives access to the selected episode, rather than requiring recurring membership. Viewers can use an eligible token balance; when payment is needed, the current flow can offer an episode or bundle checkout.

The direct purchase currently has a $1.99 minimum. When the selected unlock is worth less than that minimum, the purchase provides additional tokens. Do not advertise a separate $0.10 card transaction for every episode.

Calculate paid revenue separately from views

GW's standard creator allocation is 80% of net revenue from paid unlocks, after payment processing. A token's paid value depends on the purchase that funded it, so multiplying all unlocks by $0.10 is not an accurate earnings calculation.

If your channel accepts promotional tokens, those promotional spends do not create paid creator revenue. Review earnings from paid unlocks and complete the payout setup. The standard payout minimum is currently $25; an earnings balance is not an immediate bank transfer.

Common questions

Do viewers need a monthly subscription?

No. A viewer can use the per-episode unlock route without a monthly membership. Optional subscription offers are separate.

Can I charge my own price for each episode?

GW currently uses a platform price of 10 tokens for a paid episode. You choose which episodes are free or paid.

Is every episode a $0.10 card payment?

No. That is the current list value of an episode unlock. The direct checkout has a $1.99 minimum and can provide additional tokens.

Do free or promotional unlocks pay me?

Free access does not create a paid unlock. Promotional token spends do not create paid creator revenue; earnings come from funded paid activity.
